Give me your face.

Sat Jun 20, 2009, 10:52 PM
Hey guys, hope you're all well. If you ask me, I'm quite paranoid now (ignore my mood below this journal. I can't change it. No idea why). Anyways, I'm looking for a tutorial or reference about the many different faces...you know, how people's facial structure differ from others depending on where they come from, their generation and yadayadayada...I hope I'm not confusing you guys.

Point is, I wonder if any of you know or happen to come across any tutorial or reference about how to draw various forms of facial structure. No not, facial expression, facial structure. I'm sick of how my characters' face look almost the same with each other and I feel like its hard for me to improve without any proper tut/ref. Hope you guys could help me in some way. I'll make it up to you and I'll be eternally grateful for your kindness.

Take care.

Weeeeeeell, um...I dunno any tutorials, but I DO know the basic facts of what makes faces different depending on their race.

For example, Chinese have more pronounced cheekbones and eyes set higher up on their face. Oh, and their eyes are smaller and sorta elongated.

Europeans, depending on their age and sex, sometimes have more angular faces. And the telltale Grecian, aquiline nose.

Something like that. Ask me later in school if you still want moar.

Don't know if you already know, but Posemaniacs is actually a pretty good website for that.

You're welcome! It's actually helping me with body forms. I was totally ignorant on hands - now, because of this website, I can shape a fingers or two(or at least try to, haha). Glad I could help.
